Product Spotlight: New Eaton’s B-Line Series Conduit Trapeze Support

Traditionally, strut trapeze is used for hanging and aligning conduit. Eaton has developed their new B-Line series Conduit Trapeze Support to cut down on the number of parts needed and installation time, while adding versatility.

Eaton’s B-Line series Conduit Trapeze Support eliminates the need for pipe clamps at every location, and has a Z-shape design for added strength. Most configurations exceed the maximum load ratings defined by UL/NEC requirements. The flange works with ½” or 3/8” ATR or bolts at regular intervals, and can be cut to size on the field or spliced end-to-end.

Because of its structure, the new Conduit Trapeze Support system requires up to 75% fewer parts than the traditional strut support, and can reduce installation time up to 60%.  There are three standard sizes accommodating up to 4” conduit available in lengths ranging from 12” to 120”.

Com Dangles Solution

As the only data hanger specifically designed to be used with ceiling wire, the Com Dangle solution easily integrates into the ceiling grid with only tie-off wire where jurisdiction requires.

Eaton has long been known for its superior J-hook cable management solutions, but now the color ID clips are an alternative to painted J-hook.    The color ID clip is available in a variety of colors and snaps onto the J-hook before or after installation, making visual verification of cable pathways even easier.

Save Time, Space and Lower Installed Cost with Eaton’s B-Line Series 4Dimension Strut System

We have covered Eaton’s B-Line series 4Dimension™ strut system in a past blog, introducing you to this innovative new approach to strut supports. But did you know 4Dimension strut can save you time, space and lower installed cost on MEP support applications? We’re going to take a closer look at the 4Dimension strut system and how it can help your business improve flexibility, maximize space and lower installed cost of supports in mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) facility-subsystems.

      4Dimension strut is available in pre-galvanized, hot galvanized dip, Dura Green™, stainless steel 304 and 316. The 4Dimension strut system works with 2 1/2″ diameter pipe and smaller, which is up to 80% of pipe installed in a commercial structure. Even better, it is compatible with up to 90% of current traditional strut fittings.


  1. Labor Costs
    The 4Dimension strut includes innovative trapeze hanger designs that allows for quicker installation and labor savings. The Flip Clip hanger reduces the number of components to install from nine components down to five. The 4Dimension strut system turn and lock hanger reduces the total number of components from nine down to three. The system design allows for options to be pre-fabricated, which can be easier to lift and secure and help speed installation. And, the 4Dimension strut system has up to a 10x faster cutting speed due to material thickness.

Structural Steel Savings with Eaton’s B-Line series Metallic Cable Tray

B-Line series metallic cable tray systems are engineered to provide the best strength to weight ratio, allowing installers to gain significant savings by reducing the number of structural steel supports required to install the system.

The most significant cost driver associated with cable tray installations is the cost of the supports which can range anywhere from $300 to over $5,000 per support depending on the complexity and location of the project.

Transitioning from 10 feet spans to 20 or even 40 feet span, by utilizing longer lengths of cable tray, reduces the number of structural steel supports on straight section runs by 50 percent or more.

  1. Reduce Required Fitting supports

Eaton’s B-Line series cable tray is engineered to provide more flexibility in selecting the proper supports location for fittings. In addition to this robust design, B-Line has conducted extensive testing to provide several options to support Horizontal Bends, Tees, Crosses, and Vertical Bends which reduce the fittings supports anywhere from 50% to 66% as compared to other systems.

  1. Supporting Expansion Splice Locations

Proper thermal expansion and contraction is key to any cable tray installation.  Eaton’s patented B-Line series heavy duty expansion splice eliminates the need to install additional supports within 2 feet (600 mm) on each side of the expansion location when it is placed at ¼ span.
